This week, thanks to some other weekend commitments, I only had half of one day to work downstairs. I have a feeling it will still look like a garage for a long while still…. But those work benches were sure easy to slide around into place! This week was DIY Pastry Kitchen Construction: Week 2, and the main goal this weekend was to remove the pegboard from over my sink area.
Ta da! I call this photo, “It has to get worse before it gets better!”
I reinstalled the pegboard over our work bench in the garage side. (See all those red boxes? That is the delicious orchard pressed apple juice that we make with our harvest! I will have it at the markets with me when I am there with my pastries!)
There was a strip of trim where the old tool workbench used to be attached (which is now my sink area). I had to pry that off, so that the sink will be able to be attached flush up to the wall.
The finished product at the end of this week. (I did also remove a laundry sink, which is where my new hand sink will have to go, but failed to take a photo of this). The wall is in pretty rough shape from having removed the pegboard, but soon enough, there will be tile covering this whole area!
