Our sweet boy turned one a few days ago, and there is really nothing like a baby’s first birthday to get those tear ducts flowing. How can he be one? Already? Our little baby is no longer so little….he is only a few pounds shy of outweighing his three-year old sister, is THISCLOSE to walking on his own, and can out-eat me, it seems.
I was looking through some old photos, and stumbled upon my file of belly shots from my pregnancy with Zach. I wasn’t very good at taking regular shots when I was pregnant with Clara, but managed to do it weekly the second time around. They are pretty terrible quality, selfie-into-the-mirror shots, but the alternative would have been zero shots to have to look back on. Here is the progression of the belly…looking back at these it sure makes me miss having the baby belly and feeling those kicks.
the ‘before’ – from 4 weeks (when we found out) until about 9 weeks, it pretty much just looked and felt like I’d eaten a few too many burritos.
I could have sworn that work could already see my baby bump….which is still nonexistant here, at 10 weeks.
But at 12 weeks, why HELLO there teeny tiny bump!
already halfway there!
This was when we had our ultrasound, and make extra sure that the tech knew we did NOT want to learn the gender!
23 weeks – this was right at the beginning of September, when our very first apple harvest was ready for picking! Luckily, my picking bag fit under the bump quite comfortably!
24 weeks brought a friend’s wedding weekend in Whistler, which was a lovely 2 night stay at a lodge, sans-toddler. (To this day, it is still our one and only time away from her overnight).
belly shot in the bathroom mirror at work. And whoops, wearing the same sweater two weeks in a row! Starting to have a more limited wardrobe at this point.
ah, 34 weeks. With my first pregnancy, this is the week where I went into pre-term labour and had a baby 6 weeks early. SURPRISE! Plus, this time around, I was running a massive event at work this week….pretty thrilled to not have had a baby yet at this point! We also had maternity/family photos done this week.
massive event over, at 35 weeks, I was now on leave from work.
36 weeks. I just love this photo.
38 weeks….just before Christmas. Looks like this is the week that I upgraded my iPhone too.
39 weeks. This is the week of Christmas, and we have a house full of family. It was pretty exciting to still be baking that baby at this point! Now, I was taking photos pretty regularly, never knowing when the last one would be.
Turns out this would be my last belly photo, at 39 weeks 5 days. Because that night, the day before my due date……he arrived!
day one on the outside 🙂
8 months old (taken this past summer)
And finally, my sweet birthday boy.
Did you document your pregnancy photos in an interesting way? I remember seeing so many inspiring ideas on Pinterest….none of which I made time to do, but looking back, I am so thankful to have taken the time to do these weekly shots!
