At the start of 2015, there were 3. Just us, and our baby.
Lots of quality time with this little nugget. Hard to believe at the start of the year she wasn’t even walking yet!
I spent 2-3 days a week at my kitchen in town doing custom pastry catering orders.
In February, we went down to Arizona to visit my parents.
B and I took a quick day trip across the border to have a lunch date in Mexico.
While we were in Arizona, we finally got an offer on our house (it had been on the market for 4 months — slow time of year to sell). Also while in Arizona, Clara started walking!
We got home and set to work packing.
And Clara got to work, perfecting those wobbly steps.
In mid-April, we moved!
And a week later, this happened.
Summer fun with my girl.
We went camping a couple times.
She loved sleeping in the tent. Really, she just loved having no crib to keep her contained, and snuggled at every chance she could get.
We went camping for a week at Steamboat Rock State Park with my family. The highlight for a certain someone was the playground.
On Labour Day, B and I went to a friend’s wedding in Whistler, where we got to stay overnight at a gorgeous lodge. It was our first night (and to this day, only night!) away from Clara so far. A much needed ‘babymoon’! We also got to have sushi in Whistler and take our time knowing Clara was well looked after by her Nana and Papa.
Home from the wedding, it was time for our first apple harvest. We bought a bunch of harvest bins. They double as Orchard Playpens.
one for the bin, one for my mouth.
enlisting some help at harvest time.
baby continued to grow.
Thanksgiving was also time to pick our Fuji harvest.
In November, we had a maternity/family photo session, with an amazing local photographer.
December was Clara’s second birthday. At the time, the Click Clack Moo books were her favourite so I made her a themed cake.
Happy two year old! This is her “cheese!” face.
With a house full of family and no baby just yet (I was due on Dec 30), we got the orchard pruned with lots of hands to help out.
Our last photo as a family of three, as that evening I went into labour.
Welcome, Zachary Brandon!
We have a boy!
Already so wonderful to see them together.
When he was just a few days old, we went back to the photographer’s studio for some newborn photos.
We are so thankful to have such a happy and healthy little family. 2015 was a wonderful year and we hope life slows down a little in 2016!
